I’ve been inking in all my old gesture drawings to get a feel for that ol’ ink brush. The pencils look like shit because I’m still not loose enough with the 1-2 min gestures. The brush does a great job of picking up the slack. I have a #1 and 2 Windsor Newton series 7 (which is kind of funny because my drawing tablet is a Samsung Series 7. Funny in a way that really isn’t). and I complained about how expensive they were but, man, they’ve really hung in there. I’ve had them almost 5 years and they still have a sharp point. I’m just now starting to get a real grasp of it, though. Fun stuff.
Some of these will be used in a book of poetry that I’ll have more information on shortly. I have one more drawing to finish/publish so I’ll post more information then.
This is the best version of the finished logo. It’s my favorite, at least. Hasn’t been approved and I’m gonna add to it later but for now here’s a something.
It’s meant to be the last frame of an animated intro for a Studio a good friend of mine is starting. I’ll see if I can post an animatic later on.
And this is a phone shot of my tablet because for some stupid reason when the layers flatten the goddamn dropshadow on the text expands and puts an invisible bounding bix thing around it so it looks cut off. The photoshop file is huge but I can’t shake it. So now jpg’s of this till I figure out what’s being a burr in my butt.
Their backs are turned; but they’re looking at me. I feel their eyes.
